netstat for 032?

3rd Party Package Requesting

Postby rbw » Sun Oct 19, 2003 8:30 am

People seem to use netstat to check on their configurations, and I know it is available in freesco 027 because I can see it in the /bin directory.

I cannot seem to find it in my freesco 032 file system.

Where should I look?

Also, if I copy the executable file from freesco 027 to freesco 032 will it work?

Kind Regards, Robert

hereThe netstat binary on 027 is stored on disk in compressed format. You'll notice that /bin/netstat is in fact a (huge) script and not a linux binary at all. What happens on 027 is that the compressed binary /opt/netstat is uncompressed when needed and then executed.

I totally forgot to add these network gems (netstat, traceroute, tcpdump) in my utils_1.0 package (wait for utils_1.1 ;)).
If you can get your hands on a zipslack 3.9 disribution you can install the binaries from there on 03x.

If you only need netstat you can download it here

Install for 03x:

[Linux] cd /pkg/sbin
[Linux] snarf -n
[Linux] chmod +x netstat
