Well, I have been wanting to try it for some time now,
but the problem was time itself, and not having enough of it at the moment...

Let me know how it works out.

avmailgate is running now suc6fully on a freesco 033 server with 1 mail domain.
I'm now going tot test it with multiple domains

the only problem till now was not using the latest definitions, so you have to add a cron job to restart avmailgate.

nope
And I don't know if there comes a packages because freesco 033 sucks.
Had to reboot it very often, sometimes don't get an ip anymore and all that on a clean install without my avmailgate testing.
Everytimetroubles with the libs when I just want to use exim/teapop/fetchmail/samba/ssh/apache/proftpd/hotwayd
each setup is overwrithing a lib from the other packages and that's very anoying to make it every time work and a lot of time.
And that's what I don't have so if I have time andall keeps running then I'm going to experiment with avmailgate again

Well, I've been running 033 eversince the beginning of it,
and never had any problems
other than the ones I created myself ( a simple case of PBKAC :D)

But could you send me the files you have right now ?
Maybe (if I can find the time :( ) I could give it a shot.

Hello all,
I would be willing to try to compile this package and make it available for FREESCO v0.3.x.
But I have tried with the source they have on the hbdev website and there is a major impass in the new version, it is designed for libc.so.6 systems. I compiled the thing on Zipslack but once transferred to FREESCO it didn't work. All response I could get when launching the program at console was :" no such file or directory". on Zipslack I did a "ldd avgated" and it shows libc.so.6 as needed. I've searched and I assume this is because of the libc.so.6 library problem, I also googled a lot to fing older source but didn't end up with anything. So if anybody could point me into the direction of source that did work on libc.so.5 systems that would be very nice...
Thank you.

Regards,
phbc50

If this aplication was compiled on Slackware 3.9 and it is needing libc.so.6 . Then what you really need to do is to copy the libc-2.0.7.so to your FREESCO box and create a symlink to that file called libc.so.6
Which the library does exist in Slackware 3.9 and it will run on FREESCO.

If you will upgrade to the new "packager", then all of these kinds of problems are automaticly dealt with before hand.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.
