<font color='#000080'><a href="http://freesco.no-ip.org/VNC/" target="_blank">Here</a> is a real good howto for accessing a workstation inside your LAN via the internet using <a href="http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/" target="_blank">VNC</a> or <a href="http://www.tightvnc.com/" target="_blank">ThightVNC</a> and <a href="http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/" target="_blank">PuTTY</a>
This solution will create a secure SSH tunnel to access the workstation. You'll get a double bonus when SSH compression is also enabled.
The only requirement on your freesco box is to have the OpenSSH server package installed.
