No Network Cards Found

Support section for FREESCO v0.3.x 3rd Party Packages

Hi,

i want to use freesco as ethernet router, so i downloaded the 0.38 zip package,
copied the included image to my san and installed some virtual machine in my
virtual center to boot from that image.

in setup mode/detected hardware it shows me 2x ethernet controller amd 79c970 (rev 16). i can do configuration and everything but if i start freesco in normal mode it gives me an error: no network cards found.

now im clueless why it can detect the ethernet controllers in setup mode, but not in normal mode. or is freesco 0.38 not compatible with vmware?

regards

This post should be in FREESCO 0.3.x support, however in setup mode there is no networking enabled and to run FREESCO in VMware you have to copy the pcnet32.gz driver from the modules-038.zip file to the a:\router\drv\ directory on the floppy.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.
