Courier_4.1.1_phbc50 IMAP Capability

Support section for FREESCO v0.3.x 3rd Party Packages

Postby dilberts_left_nut » Mon Feb 18, 2008 7:34 am

I have installed and got working Courier_4.1.1_phbc50 and am trying to set up shared folders for use with Thunderbird.

Thunderbird reports "This server does not support shared folders"

The IMAP CAPABILITY command returns only
Code: Select all
* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2005 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.

I found this thread that describes the problem & a fix, but it does not seem applicable to the setup on my FREESCO box :(

Can this fix be adapted, or is there another way to achieve the correct response to the CAPABILITY command?

The other possibility is that I have bolluxed the setup of the shared folders (I followed the directions here)

works fine for me

you need to make edit changes in /pkg/etc/courier.conf
rc_courier restart
rc_masq restart

also FREESCO options must be enabled:
setup
44
443 [y] enable users personal web pages

IMAP in general is working fine, just not shared folders. :(

works fine for me

Is this referring to shared folders or CAPABILITY response?

There seems nothing relevant or misconfigured in /pkg/etc/courier.conf or /pkg/etc/imapd

Personal web pages are enabled.

My head hurts from overexposure to IMAP documentation

you're right. I didn't read deep enough into your original question.

out-of-the box courier for FREESCO has not been setup with shared folder access, and based on some of the docs this feature can be made available ... an interesting project for release

I am looking for an imap package and I recall the was one available but it does not show on the available package list.

phbc50 server seems offline for the moment.

any clue on how to get it ?

For those of you who installed it, is it working properly on Freesco 037 (or 038) ?

Waiting for a reply...
