Apache Package Problems

Support section for FREESCO v0.3.x 3rd Party Packages

Now it's not a problem, cause I called my ISP to tell them to open port 80 in my cablemodem, but i only managed to make my apache work on port 8080 after using the line "Listen 8080", having before the "Port 8080" line in the httpd.conf file.
In spite of everything now its working in two ports, 80 and 8080 :angry: as i say, now its not a problem but i wanna know why i had that problem in order to learn a little.
Here you have my httpd.conf file.

Thanks a lot!
Long life to Freesco!

Hiper, your rc_httpd looks OK to me (did you change anything?)

Your httpd.conf is not correct if you want it to be listening to port 8080 only:

Code: Select all
Port 8080
Listen 8080
##
##  SSL Support
##
##  When we also provide SSL we have to listen to the
##  standard HTTP port (see above) and to the HTTPS port
##

<IfDefine SSL>
Listen 80
Listen 443
</IfDefine>

Because by default SSL is defined too (Apache package also supports HTTPS protocol), this means the IfDefine rule kicks in, so it will also execute the 'Listen 80' line. Results: both port 8080 and port 80 will be active in this Apache config.
