proxy-suite 1.9 for freesco 027

Announcements of packages that are now released.

Postby dingetje » Tue May 06, 2003 5:53 pm

Based on <a href='http://www.suse.de/en/whitepapers/proxy_suite/' target='_blank'>SuSE Proxy-Suite</a> I've made this package for freesco 027.
Check out the URL above for details about what this puppy can do.

The main use is to act as a "transparent" proxy between an FTP client out there and any FTP server your FREESCO box can get access to. The client will (usually) not notice he's re-routed.

<span style='color:purple'><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Q:</span> So, does this mean I can finally run an FTP server behind my FREESCO firewall?
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>A:</span> Yes, It does!</span>

<h3>Requirements</h3>
  • very modest, only lewy-lib or any other package that contains the full libc.so.5. It may even work with the stock libc.so.5 (which is stripped of some functions for size), but I haven't tested that.
  • aprox. 640Kb free harddisk space. This is because I've included (as usual) most of the documentation. If desired I can make a "light" version for (maybe) floppy install. The core executable is only 67Kb.
<h3>Installation</h3>
Code: Select all
installpkg http://dingetje.homeip.net/beta/proxy-suite_1.9_dingetje

<h3>Notes</h3>
  • The sample config has logging enabled to the extreme (DBG) and is configured for a FREESCO box at 192.168.0.1 and is listening at port 2100. It's obvious that this will only work if your box meets these settings. I therefore *strongly* advise you to edit the config at:
/mnt/router/packages/proxy-suite/etc/proxy-suite/ftp-proxy.conf (damn, those 027 paths are long!)
  • The log file(s) will (default) be written to /mnt/router/packages/proxy-suite/log/ftp-proxy.log, but it's also possible to log to the system log.
  • I suggest you RTFM, man pages (HTML-ized for easy reading) and/or the white paper on the official site.

Enjoy :cool3:

Hello

Is there any chances that I can find a version that works with 036+ of this pga ?

Did you try:
Code: Select all
pkg -i http://dingetje.homeip.net/packages/0.3.x/proxy-suite_1.9_dingetje

If yes, what is the problem? Please start a new thread in 3rd party package support.
