Stop unwanted Modem Dial-Outs

Announcements of packages that are now released.

Postby currabubula » Thu Apr 18, 2002 10:38 pm

I got sick of my modem dialing on all the time, and my kids accessing the Internet when they wanted, so I wrote DialOut to easily control Freesco modem blocking from my system tray.
Saves opening browser or telnet to control freesco and issue "control block" commands.
Only tested on win9x & 2000... so dunno about XP..

Download from here, it's free like FREESCO:

Read the readme dudes.

Tested on win2k and works well (the windows part, I'm on broadband).

Well documented.  Easy to use and setup.

If you want his manual modem dial-out program it is available on Freescosoft. I just checked and verified it is still there. The program is called Freedum. If you run it under WinXP though you must shut Freedum down before shutting down XP or XP will not shut down.

If you use the search function of the forum you can find out more information about Freedum AND some more recently written programs that do the same thing and get along with XP just fine.
