There is a bug in the move2hd command that causes the "overwrite" option to malfunction. The solution to this problem is to use this commands on the running hard drive system before shutting the system down and booting the 0.4.1 floppy
Code: Select all
:>/boot/v_0_3_x
sync
sync

SPECIAL NOTE: For anyone installing cleanly or a new system this patch is NOT needed. It ONLY applies when trying to "overwrite" an existing 0.4.x hard drive install on a FAT hard drive and does NOT apply to ext2 installs.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.

There is a bug in the keyboard map loading section of the /rc/rc_main script that causes alternate keyboard maps to fail to load. To resolve this problem use the following commands
edit /rc/rc_main
Code: Select all
#Find these lines at line number 89
case $1 in
        $boot)rm -f ppp/*.opt
                for i in `ls boot/kbd/*.gz 2>/dev/null`

# Change the last line of the above to this
                for i in `ls /boot/kbd/*.gz 2>/dev/null`

cp  /rc/rc_main  /pkg/rc/
sync
reboot

SPECIAL NOTE: this patch is NOT needed unless you need to load a special keyboard map file.
